Monet Nicole is a maternity photographer by trade. The photographer has decades of experience and has witnessed countless births. She feels that childbirth is a one-of-a-kind, life-altering experience that affects every woman who goes through it, and via her photographs she hopes to not only capture the moments but also highlight the untamed beauty of childbirth.
Recently, the photographer published an additional outstanding collection of images. A mother gave birth to her twins at a maternity hospital with a regular delivery and the presence of those she desired. Monet was present and captured the key moments in her signature style. In her message, she proclaimed, "Oh twin. In the majority of the United States, the sole option for twin birth (with a provider) is the hospital. I certainly feel that people deserve additional alternatives regarding twin births. There are numerous lower s twin pregnancies that can occur outside of the hospital. (and we see this happen in several states across the country). But what happens if your state does not permit home birth? You campaign for the birth of your children."
This gorgeous mother had her twins in the hospital, but she knew she wanted a hands-off birth. She carried her children to term. She worked in whatever position was most comfortable for her. She requested that her mother, doula, birth photographer, and partner be present in the operating room. She us when she felt prepared, and she did not receive an u (a usual request made by clinicians for twin births). She even requested that her catch her child (instead of the O.B). It was a reminder of how we can and should advocate when we enter a hospital. It was strong and lovely.
