The 7-month-old twins of a young mother shocked her Tiktok followers by weighing three times their birth weight.
Alexis Larue, age 22, from Minnesota, United States, cannot believe how quickly her twin daughters, Camila and Elena, are growing, each weighing 21 pounds. The mother was required to post unaltered videos of her babies being weighed and measured to prove that they are as large as they appear.
When Alexis, who is only 5'3" tall and weighs 116.4 lbs, carries both of her babies at once, the result is quite comical.
Alexis frequently posts videos in which she compares her size to that of her children. She has accumulated over 700,000 followers on the platform and over 24 million likes across all of her videos. The majority of her videos focus on the absurd size difference between her and her children.
Prior to her pregnancy, the mother weighed 108 pounds, but by week 38 of her pregnancy, she weighed 180 pounds. In March, she gave birth to two baby girls, Camila at 9:22 a.m. weighing 6lbs 6oz and Elena later weighing 6lbs 7oz. At nearly seven months old, their weight has more than tripled, reaching nearly 21 lbs.
The mother added, "It is extremely common for newborn twins to weigh less than 5 kilograms." I purchased clothing for the twins in advance, anticipating that they would be quite small. "However, with a combined weight of nearly 13 pounds, these girls have entered the nascent stage and have grown rapidly since then."
Camila and Elena consume 6 ounces of infant formula every few hours and are beginning to transition to solid foods. Leo's father was 5'11" tall, so the family was surprised when the twins reached 2'5" in just half a year.
Alexis states, "Both individuals have the highest weight-to-height ratio. They are such quick-growing plants that I frequently need to purchase them new attire. At seven months, they can wear clothes ranging from 12 to 18 months."
Alexis began uploading videos of her twins to her TikTok account, @themejiafamily_, when she was bored at home shortly after their birth. However, the couple was unaware of the level of interest the videos would generate. An unconvinced observer remarked, "Those are eight-year-olds." Another said, "If they were standing on top of one another, they would be taller than you.
"They are eight-year-olds," remarked an unconvinced viewer. Someone else stated, "They would be taller than you if they were standing on top of each other."
Additionally, there are allegations that Alexis edits her videos or uses filters to make the girls appear larger, but she denies this.
She stated, "I also receive numerous accusations of overfeeding them, but it is extremely difficult to do so. Their pediatrician is unconcerned about their size, as they are simply extremely swift adults.
I want everyone to remember that every baby is unique. They all grow at different rates, but mine grew especially quickly. They are very healthy, content, and full of character."
