Certain UFO and extraterrestrial accounts stand apart from the rest of the reports that have been made public.
Some stories are so incomprehensible that they leave the reader in a condition of complete disbelief.
Similarly, we have one example with an Australian woman named Maureen Puddy who has ties to UFOs and a difficult-to-classify psychic creature.
Dark road
On the evening of July 5, 1972, Maureen Puddy was driving along a remote section of Alooraduc Road in Victoria, Australia, near Frankston. At that time, she was 27 years old. After visiting the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne to see her son, who had been severely injured when a cabinet crashed on him, she had tea with her mother that evening. Afterwards, she was returning home through a short cut through a desolate and dark region.
Maureen Puddy's Bizarre UFO Experience
A brilliant blue light pouring down on her vehicle and the road drew her attention as she looked into the darkness, eyes heavy from weariness and fighting sleep. First, she believed it to be a helicopter despite the absence of sound. She finally pulled over to investigate the situation.
As Maureen Puddy exited the car and carefully inspected the thing, she was incredulous since it was not a helicopter but a "huge round object, like two saucers fitted together, with one upside down," emitting a dazzling blue light. There were no obvious joints, rivets, seams, or windows on the mysterious object, which was approximately 100 feet wide and 24 feet tall. It looked to be a consistently smooth metal item.
The thing was immobile and producing a very low humming sound as it hovered in place. Maureen Puddy fled the location in her car due to her fear of the creature's strange appearance, despite the creature's lack of threatening behavior.
Representation of a UFO pursuing an automobile
Around this time, she was captivated by the same brilliant blue light that was lighting everything and making it appear to be sunlight. As she looked back, she was astounded to realize that the mysterious object appeared to be following her, keeping the same distance between them regardless of how fast she drove. She was shocked and a bit afraid after the object pursued her for over 8 kilometers before abruptly ascending into the sky and flying away. When she reported her sighting to the Dromana police, they did not take her seriously.
Second UFO Encounter with Maureen Puddy
On Tuesday, July 25, 1972, Maureen Puddy once again visited her son, as usual had tea with her mother, and came home along the same path. At this time, she had attempted to move on from the weird UFO event, but it continued to plague her. This time, the identical disc-shaped object with a dazzling blue light appeared and hovered once again in the sky. This time, she was so terrified that she drove as quickly as the vehicle would allow before realizing she was losing control.
The automobile began to slide despite her urgent attempts to restore control of the steering wheel. In the midst of all this, the accelerator failed, leading the vehicle to veer off the road and halt. She attempted many times to restart the automobile, but was unable. As Maureen was attempting to start the automobile while observing the item, she heard a voice in her brain say, "If you could be in a vacuum, I've been in one." It was as if the speaker were standing next to her. The voice appeared to originate from a computer. In addition, it stated, "Do not be scared... The results of your testing will be negative... inform the media that you are now in charge. Once the item had raced away, the blue light went out and the automobile came back to life.
This time, she reported the incident to the police, and they laughed it off once again. She afterwards decided to report it to the Laverton R.A.A.F. in order to determine whether it was a kind of aircraft being tested by the R.A.A.F. The base informed her that there were no aircraft or balloons in the vicinity at the time. They even ordered her not to discuss her experience.
The base's instructions just added to her uncertainty, leaving her even more perplexed and baffled. She was unaware of what had transpired or the mental signals she was getting.
Obviously, we questioned Maureen Puddy about her vehicle experience. What did the communications mean? She said that she had not had any testing in the past six months, although those conducted around six months ago were negative. It was useless to persuade her not to be scared since she was terrified! About informing the media, she called three of the four television stations. Because "Chariots of the Gods" was being screened, one was moderately intrigued. Two were dismissive of her news, so she did not call the fourth. I learned via a radio talk-back show that she had called the media out of desperation since the UFOnauts had instructed her to do so and she did not wish to see them again!
When I invited her to speak at one of our meetings at the National Mutual Theatrette, she consented and captivated the entire audience for about an hour. Even individuals in the foyer were listening through the speaker system, so captivated were they by the presentation! Mrs. Puddy was truly "taken through her paces" during the question time that evening. Did she believe that what she witnessed was a psychic phenomenon? "Did she sustain burns or other aftereffects?" She said "No" to both of these queries. Does she believe there were further witnesses? When she approached a railroad crossing, she spotted a man with a flashlight walking a cow up one of the side roads, so she assumed there must have been at least one. Certainly, the UFO must have traveled in the same direction as him while passing quite near to him. Later, the man's wife phoned her and a woman who lived on a nearby ridge — they had both "seen the light!"
In subsequent years, Judith Magee of the Melbourne UFO Research Society (VUFORS) interviewed Maureen.
Six months later, Maureen's head was flooded with voices saying, "Return to the meeting location." Originally, she attempted to ignore the voice, but it grew so intrusive throughout the day and night that she was unable to concentrate on anything. Once, she heard her name being yelled out. The sound came from outside the front door, but when she opened it to see who was calling her name, no one was there. The voice followed her everywhere she went and told her to return to the meeting location, which she assumed was the road where she had seen the object.
She begged Magee for assistance since she feared travelling alone. Thus, she was joined by Magee and Paul Norman, a researcher. Magee detected a mild tingling sensation as they entered Maureen's car, and from then on, things just became weirder.
Before I continue, I should mention that as I entered her car, I got a strange feeling that something was wrong; I had a tingling sensation (similar to that of a minor electric shock), which rapidly subsided. Maureen then informed me that a somebody wearing a sort of gold foil suit had materialized in the front seat's middle, between where we were seated. As she turned to gaze in his direction, she was so frightened that she nearly drove off the road; it was evident that she had been somewhat rattled by the eventful journey. By this point, we had arrived at the meeting location, which was somewhat concealed from passing traffic by a few trees. Paul climbed into the back seat of the station wagon as Maureen and I remained in the front with the driver.
We were discussing the most recent incident on the roadway when she grabbed my arm and pointed across her automobile, shouting, "There he is!" "Do you not notice him?" I attempted to explain that it was similar to closed circuit television from him to her, but she shook my arm and said that I must be able to do it. She said that he was approaching the automobile and was so near that I could perhaps touch him if I extended my arm. Paul was standing close to the front lamp, so I requested him to take a short stroll around the vehicle. As Paul approached the thing, the entity stepped back to allow him to pass between him and the automobile. At this time, the thing gestured to Maureen to accompany him, but she categorically refused. I told her I would accompany her and attempted to help her out of the vehicle, but she refused to get grasp of the steering wheel.

Shortly thereafter, Maureen entered a trance and stated she could view the interior of the entity's spacecraft. She recounted seeing an enormous circular chamber containing a massive mushroom-shaped item in the center. She said that the room was unfurnished. The lowest section of the mushroom-shaped thing was surrounded by "Roman numeral-like lines," and it moved somewhat as if it were made of jelly. Now, Maureen explained to the researchers that she was circling the focal item in the room. Then, though, she experienced a panic attack or seizure.
Paranormal Phenomena
She was evidently glancing about the room when she grew quite anxious and wailed, "I can't leave! There are no windows or doors. I cannot escape!" I attempted to comfort her by placing my arm around her shoulders, and I could feel her tears on my hand. As I vividly envisioned what Maureen was saying, I decided to focus my thoughts to the entity; nothing to lose and perhaps plenty to gain - as I was concerned about Maureen's situation, I believed she may have suffered a mental breakdown or a stroke. I asked him in silence to have pity on the unfortunate girl, and she abruptly said, "He wants me to close my eyes." I answered that she should, and almost immediately I felt her relax, as though she were in a trance.
Again, she described the interior of the thing and grew anxious when she realized there was no escape route. After a little interval, she "returned to us," at which point we turned on the car's interior lights and offered her a cup of tea from our thermos flask. I had barely handed Maureen her cup when she exclaimed, "Oh, I'm back in there again!" She then repeated the story, albeit more calmly, before concluding, "He's gone. This time, he's gone for good. I can tell. That feels distinct.
Magee
After this, she was calmer and acted normally, but she had no idea what had happened to her. According to the Magee, the creature used psychic abilities and linguistic cues to hypnotize Maureen and affect her activities.
Have you ever observed a "entertaining" hypnotist at work? "When I snap my fingers, your trance will deepen," etc. Was the second encounter (July 25, 1972) about which Maureen claimed, "If you could be in a vacuum, then I have been in one" — a similar incident? There was no sound, nothing moved, and everything was still before the message was given. Was this third occurrence caused by their urging her to behave by "snapping her fingers"? If this is the case, how many people are they able to hypnotize, even even in their sleep, so that we respond when "they" desire, whenever "they" "snap" their fingers? This is a pretty depressing notion to me.

The case appeared to be both weird and unsettling to the individual who met the strange being and psychic event. One can question what peculiar factors were present. How did this enigmatic monster exert influence over the women? Furthermore, why did they travel there and what did they want from her? The mystery surrounding the case of Maureen Puddy remains unresolved.
