A woman went into labor while traveling to a maternity hospital in the United States. Father recorded the birth of Josiah Benjamin, a four-kilogram infant.
It could be made up. But the adventure Lesia and John Pettijohn of Texas, United States, experienced is incredibly real. The couple had been driving for approximately 45 minutes in the direction of a maternity hospital in Pasadena, but the baby refused to wait and was born in the car.
The couple did not have a cell phone to call for assistance, so Lesia instructed John to continue driving while she went into labor: "I was probably more panicked than I should have been. However, I dreaded having him in the car. I was terrified. She says, "I didn't know if he was breathing properly or if he needed anything else." Leslie asked John to document the birth of her son. While driving, he captured the moment with a GoPro.
Within minutes, she was holding her son. His name was Josiah Benjamin. Lesia exclaimed, "The baby is coming!" as she saw the baby's head and pulled her body out. "He's crying and breathing, honey, he's fine," her husband John reassured her from the driver's seat as he recorded the scene.
Jon instructed Lesia to turn the newborn face down and pat her back, as is customary after birth. "Oh my God, we just gave birth in the car," the mother exclaimed in the video. She added, while holding him between her legs, "It's a boy."
Josiah, a child who was already famous, was born healthy and weighing approximately 4.5 kg. The third child of the couple entered the world as a true protagonist.
