Southport Mother's Joy Upon Delivering "Miracle" Triplets
A Southport mother defied odds of one in 25,000 to deliver "miracle" triplets.
On January 21, Sarah Johnson, age 31, gave birth to Darcie, Macy, and Bobbie-nn at Ormskirk Hospital.
Sarah's three bundles of joy were conceived naturally, while the vast majority of triplets are born after IVF treatment.
Their mother remarked, "It was a tremendous shock to discover I was pregnant with triplets. I have waited forever for a baby girl, and now I have three.
"I and the father of the girls feel so blessed and fortunate. We know we'll be knee-deep in diapers and bottles, but we can't wait to bring them home.
Sarah, a health care assistant at Southport Hospital, stated, "We are purchasing three of everything and have three cots prepared for the sisters." It is a time of great excitement."
Sarah delivered the triplets after 33 weeks and six days of gestation. There are identical twins among two of the girls.
