John Glenn: "They are spread over the sky." "This is the seventh Friendship.
I shall attempt to express what I am now experiencing. I am surrounded by a great number of tiny, light particles, as though they were luminous.
I have never seen something similar. They are quite spherical; when they pass through the capsule, they resemble little stars. I observe a downpour of them.
John Glenn
Have a look at this astounding audio file where we can hear the shock of astronaut John Glenn when his spacecraft was encircled by a large number of weird UFOs.
During manned space missions, this auditory communication is one of the most unexpected indications of a mystery alien presence. This vintage audio clip allows us to hear a portion of the discussion between the Mercury-Atlas 6 (MA-6) capsule piloted by John Glenn and CAPCOM on the first manned orbital mission of the United States, which occurred on February 20, 1962.
It conducted a successful three-orbital voyage around the Earth after being launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, reaching a maximum height of roughly 162 land miles and an orbital speed of around 17,500 miles per hour. The "Friendship 7" Mercury spacecraft landed in the area of Grand Turk Island. From launch to impact, the mission lasted 4 hours, 55 minutes, and 23 seconds.
John Glenn
In the audio tape, Mr. Glenn refers to his capsule as "Friendship 7" and describes a "beautiful blue horizon" as the sun rises in the distance behind him. Then, all of a sudden, he notices that something strange is occurring around him, as many UFOs have "intercepted" his capsule. Below is the event's transcript, followed by the video:
John Glenn: Welcome aboard Friendship Seven. He is dazzled by the visibility. That began immediately after I gave that grade; I use the dark filter to observe it.
CAPCOM: Roger.
John Glenn: Welcome aboard Friendship Seven. I shall endeavor to express what I observe here. It seems to be a big collection of tiny particles that are highly illuminated as if they were luminous. I have never seen something similar. They are quite spherical; when they pass through the capsule, they resemble little stars. A deluge of them are approaching me.
They spin around the capsule, pass in front of the glass, and are all highly lighted, as stated by John Glenn. Around 7 or 8 feet away, but I can also see them all beneath me.
CAPCOM, intrigued by the happenings, questioned Glenn about the objects and whether or not they were influencing his spaceship.
CAPCOM: Roger, Friendship Seven. Can you hear the capsule impacting? Short.
John Glenn: negative, negative They will not drive me faster than 3 or 4 miles per hour due to their sluggishness. They are about moving at the same speed as I am. They are far slower than me. Short.
Indeed, they move differently than I do because they whirl about the capsule and then travel away along the direction I'm seeking.
John Glenn: Are you in receipt? Short. There are thousands upon thousands of them.
Glenn receives no reaction from CAPCOM after describing the objects and wonders whether he is in communication with anybody as he continues to describe the weird things surrounding his spaceship.
John Glenn: This is the seventh friendship. Are I communicating with someone? Short.
Almost five minutes after detailing the events, CAPCOM answers that Glenn sounded rather "confusing" and inquires about his oxygen levels. Surprisingly, CAPCOM did not address the bizarre occurrences with Glenn, who reveals that the mystery particles continue to surround the spaceship. Glenn opted to photograph the mystery objects after finding that CAPCOM was unresponsive. Then, CAPCOM inquires about the particle's size and whether or not it was moving or floating.
CAPCOM speculated that the particles may have originated from the spaceship, but Mr. Glenn denied this. Curiously, after the successful orbit of "Friendship 7," Scott Carpenter, an astronaut onboard the "Aurora 7" spacecraft, also observed unknown objects in space. Eventually, NASA experts saw the enigma and determined that the objects viewed in space were simply ice particles captured by sunlight.
NASA said that ice had formed on the outside of the spacecraft and that what the two astronauts observed were floating ice particles. Yet, the explanation did not persuade Mr. Glenn. During his second orbit, he reported observing the objects in both directions for kilometers. What is your opinion? Glenn had a sensory experience, or was Ice real? As usual, we will never learn... or what?
