Alexandra Kinova, age 23, gave birth by caesarean section to four sons and one daughter, according to representatives of the Institute of Maternal and Child Care in Prague. Doctors report that the mother and her five children were admitted to the intensive care unit. Ms. Kinova's son, whom she already has, contributed to the naming of her five new siblings. Terezka is a female, while Deniel, Michael, Alex, and Martin are all men. The two infants were concealed during the scan, so the family did not learn their genders until after they were born.
According to Zbynek Stranak, chief physician of the neonatology division of the institute, the birth occurred "without any complications." According to him, 95% of infants are expected to grow up healthy. Ms. Kinova, a native of Milovice, located northeast of Prague, defied all odds by becoming naturally pregnant with twins. Before last month, the mother of six did not know she was expecting five more children. Initially, doctors believed she was expecting twins, but by March, they realized she was actually carrying four babies. However, she was unaware that she was born in the year of her birth until the following month.
This month, Ms. Kinova told the Czech news website Denik.cz that she was shocked to hear the news.
She stated, "When we finally discovered the fifth head, I began to cry."
According to experts, the probability of naturally conceiving is one in a few million.
The mother claimed that her partner's family also had a history of twins. She claimed that, aside from four months of morning sickness, her pregnancy was relatively trouble-free. Ms. Kinova claimed she did not have any breathing problems and could sleep on her side. As she did with her eldest son, she intends to breastfeed her remaining five children. According to Ms. Kinova, despite their best efforts, doctors still do not know the gender of all infants.
She stated, "I am excited to see what they will look like. It's a great talisman, but we can't tell anything from the head or the legs alone."
For her caesarean section, the hospital planned to double the number of doctors and midwives. According to them, they were given medication to accelerate the infant's lung development.
