After giving birth to a son, irreplaceable photos capture the mother's shock.

Kim Guiley had believed since the beginning of her second pregnancy that she and her husband were expecting a daughter. At the time of childbirth, when she discovered that Theo was a boy, she had a strong reaction that was captured in photographs.

Kim and her husband Travis already had a 3-year-old daughter, Hazel, and they were fairly certain that their second child would also be a girl. However, they chose not to find out before the birth, preferring to keep it a secret until the arrival of their new child.

Kim gave birth in July of 2017. The midwife informed her shortly after she went into labor that she needed to be taken to the hospital because her buttock bone was impeding the delivery.

As her husband helped her to her feet, she felt the birth of her child. Things advanced faster than anticipated. The birth of the infant was imminent. Kim began to push, causing her tailbone to crack. Kim said, "I was in excruciating pain." Despite this, Kim persevered and delivered a healthy boy! Not a girl!

Photographer Susannah Gill captured the moment Kim discovered the baby’s s.ᴇ.x. Take a look at the image and you’ll see the couple’s reaction is quite unique. “It was a magical moment, because several things were happening at the same time,” she explained. It was around 5 a.m., after a very long night.

"The midwife wrapped the newborn in a blanket and handed it to Kim, who took a peek. Susannah remarked, "She was adamantly convinced this baby was a girl due to the resemblance between her second and third pregnancies."

Kim and Travis had experienced a sibling rivalry between Hazel and Theo. Even though she was secretly excited about the possibility of a boy, she primarily desired a healthy and content child. The discovery that we had a healthy baby boy marked the culmination of our losses and difficulties.
